Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays: Sugar Skull Nails

If you saw my last post, this post just explains where I got the idea. I went to Michael's today and they already had some Halloween stuff out! So that gave me an itch to make skull nail art. Searching through Pinterest I found this tutorial by Pixie Polish.

Here is my version. I added some embellishments of my own.

Sorry it has been a while... finally got my groove back. lol. Thanks for looking and hope you like it and try it out for yourself. It is a very easy design!

Layering Experiments...

Yesterday I shared my NOTD (nails of the day!) on Instagram. I just wanted to elaborate today and share some better pics on what I did.

The base is Julep Helena. Then I layered Accessorize Aztec on top of that. Aztec is kind of similar to Hard Candy Beetle or Orly Space Cadet. For an accent, I used Dollish Polish Random Dancing. I liked it but wanted to see it matte, so I put a layer of NYC Matte Me Crazy on everything.

Playing Catch-up

So sorry I haven't posted anything the last few weeks. It is summer and the kids are home and I just haven't been motivated to do any nail art. Two weeks ago my family went camping and that always wrecks my nails. I even took cuticle oil and hand lotion with me, but they still ended up drying and peeling. So I've been trying to get them back up to my standards. I think they look much better than they did so I'm not afraid to show them off to you now. :)

On Monday, just to get back to painting my nails,  I just grabbed a random polish from my stash and decided to put on whatever I pulled out. It was Love & Beauty Purple/Multi. Got to love those generic names. Obviously it is purple, and it has scattered holographic sparkles in it. It is really pretty but dries gritty so I used a coat of Gelous and then a top coat of Poshe. It smoothed it all out and this mani pretty much lasted for 4 days before it started chipping. I was surprised!

See my next mani after the jump!

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Karinea0a - Firework Nails

It is Monday and it is Monkey See Monkey Do time! This mani comes from Karine at Karinea0a. She made fireworks! When I saw it, I knew I had to recreate it. What a perfect time to do it, with the 4th of July coming up. Her base is OPI Catch Me In Your Net. The closest I have is Wet N Wild Teal of Fortune. It still came out beautiful but the trouble I have with blues is that it stains my skin and when I try to clean up around my cuticles, it just gets worse. lol So sorry about that in advance.

Kleancolor Blue Eyed Girl is like a jelly sandwich in one polish. I love that it is so squishy and the glitters are large and you don't have to fish for any hexes.

Thanks for looking! Have a fun and safe 4th of July!
